This is an intergenerational event for people of all ages with special attention to inclusion of children. Mark your calendars Saturday, October 14th, 3:00 – 4:30 at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, Brother Brett, of St. Mark’s and music educator, Margaret Moncrieff will lead us in an Earth Encounter walk inviting us to notice our connection with creation and how we experience God. As we listen with all our senses and allow ourselves to respond to our encounter with heart and sound lead by Margaret.

Our choir rehearses weekly for Sunday service. Please reach out to our Music Minister, David Melhorn-Boe at musicminister@kingstonlutherans.com, to learn more about joining. We meet Thursdays at 6pm.
Monthly Book Club
The St. Mark’s book club has been going for about 15 years and regular membership continues to be around 12. At the moment all of the attendees are women but we are certainly open to having men as part of the group. Prior to COVID we would take turns hosting but post COVID we have used the coffee room at St. Mark’s for our meetings with the occasional get together on someone’s deck, or at Lake Ontario Park in the nicer weather. We meet the last Wednesday of the month at 2 pm. Books are chosen by all participants at the end of the year for the following calendar year. Members volunteer to lead the discussion and snacks are provided on a rotational basis. It is very informal. The books over the course of the year are varied and usually lead to good conversation.
We would definitely be open to new members and do not require attendees to read the book before coming. We invite anyone who would like to be part of the group to contact our office at admin@kingstonlutherans.com.
At the moment, based on the regular members’ needs, it was determined that the meetings would happen during the day, however, we could look at another time for people who work and may prefer an evening meeting.
Next meeting is Wed Sept 27th @ St. Mark’s
Spirit Queery

Faith & Practice Group
Will meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, between 1:30-2:30pm, beginning on Wed. October 4th, at St. Mark’s.
Please get in touch with Br. Brett at pastor@kingstonlutherans.com for more info!
This group will meet in person at the church building for ninety minutes to explore the ways we encounter God and engage with the world. We will utilize the following resources: the Bible, historic theological documents, spiritual practices, current faith writings, our hearts, and minds to explore our own understanding and experience of our encounter with the Holy. You do not have to have any prior knowledge of any faith or practice. You just need to be alive and willing to respectfully listen to others and maybe even share your own thoughts and experiences related to the topics.
Each time we gather will include:
- A moment of quiet centring.
- A question upon which participants are invited to reflect and share reflection only if you wish.
- The topic of the day will be explored through a short presentation by the leader, Brother Brett followed by mutual conversation.
- A practice of spirituality will be introduced and maybe practiced if you desire. (a type of meditation or contemplation, a way of reading or writing, a type of prayer, an awareness exercise and more)
- An introduction of what will happen at the next gathering.
- A closing prayer or activity.
